Although the business world can be aggressive, cut-throat (very competitive between other companies) and hard, there’s a lot of wisdom and intelligent ideas to be found here as well. Not everyone talks about profit and making money, and lots of famous businessmen and creative experts also think a lot about motivation, progress, the future and how to manage people as well.
You'll find out some fun business quotes below, and you can learn more about the English-speaking business world.

Always deliver more than expected – Larry Page, Google CEO (Chief Executive Officer)
Google has been the leader in lots of different industries, but it’s mainly known for its search engine, and advertising platforms. Larry Page has amassed more than $100 billion, so he seems to know what he is doing when it comes to business!
‘Deliver’ in this context means to finish your work, a project or a task, and when he says ‘more than expected’, he means that you should always try to complete your task before you have to, and with a higher level of quality and creativity than the person expects.
There’s another similar quote that goes “under promise, over deliver” which talks about the same idea. You should always try to give yourself enough time to complete a project, then work hard to finish it even quicker, or even better.
You will get all you want in life, if you will just help other people get what they want – Zig Zigler
Zig Zigler was an American author and motivational speaker in the 1950s and 60s. He was especially known for his insightful ideas about sales, teamwork and positive thinking. This quote is excellent, as it really gets to the heart of teamwork and striving towards a common goal.
The idea behind this quote is that if you want to achieve great things, you can’t do it on your own, and you can’t do it by pushing other people down.
There’s another similar quote that says “A rising tide lifts all boats” which means that when there is progress in an industry, everyone in that industry benefits, rather than thinking about just yourself benefitting.
If you don’t drive your business, you’ll be driven out of business – BC Forbes
Forbes Magazine is one of the best known economics and business/finance related content platforms, and was created in 1917. Bertie Charles Forbes was the founder, and he was a reporter, editor, and businessman, and was committed to the magazine for almost his whole life!
This quote is fantastic, as it talks about the need to be very active and to look ahead when it comes to business. ‘Driving’ your business in this context, means to find new ways to innovate, new ideas and new talent at all times. Being ‘driven out of business’ is a slightly different use of the word, and here it means to not make enough money, or not be popular enough, so that the business fails.
So the quote advises people to make sure their business is modern, innovative and the people are inspired, because if not, it is likely to die!.
